About Me
I was born in Ohio. As a young girl my health often restricted my activities to inside or bed rest which was not very exciting for one who loves the outdoors! But, having a wise mother, and with her encouragement, I could draw and color to my heart’s content . Always kept in supplies, I started in oils as soon as I could hold a brush. People and animals are my favorite subjects.
Medicines improved and so did my health, and life and adventures took over. I married, graduated from Ashland University, started a family, and began teaching. Art always helped me explain things in a creative way.
Retired and moved, our Georgia house completed, I opened up my original box of brushes I had so carefully packed away. Most were still in good order. I have now returned full circle to something that has always brought me great joy. I have been accepted into galleries and group exhibitions and have been honored with awards. I only wish my mother had lived to see this wonderful journey, I thank her every day.
